an update after a long time

Hey Ameen, Bridget, Lauren, Tim, Paul, etc,

I am sorry that it has taken me two months to finally start writing something on this. Paradoxically this is the beginning of my exam season - I have a vision of professors with high caliber rifles, viewfinders, safari hats and all of us grazing on the grass - and yet I am here writing a few words, when really I should be writing all about the liquidity trap and the Fed's latest and shallowest attempts at pushing some monetary policy...

All I wanted to say that all is good in Thunderland and in my world. I have so many updates for you on America's good heart and on its idiosyncrasies: monster truck jams, coffee grinders at the mall, filing tax returns, and my first time on a balloon...All in good time and I promise that it will be worth your time!

I look forward to hearing from you and please keep me on my toes...especially the one of you who keeps on emailing every week asking for an update...I promised I would not out you and I did not, see?!!
