An introduction to Sedona

Hey y'all!

I think it's somewhat peculiar to hear people say "y'all"...first culprit my friend Kelly from Missouri. She is GRAND and I am really grateful for her support over the past few weeks - what with all the studying and working and the exams! I now work 20 hours a week and taking 15 credits. And seeing Dave most weekends.

On Thursday Dave and I will be scooting off to Sedona. Bronwen knows all about it so you can ask her what it's like. Dave and I will be spending the weekend up there. Things are getting quite serious between us and I feel that we are moving to another phase in our relationship. We have been talking about me relocating there at some point in the next few months. So - if you want to visit Sedona you better rush!

So back onto the Sedona subject...here are a couple of pictures I took when I was up there with Bronwen and Riccardo. The place has the same intense colours of Almodovar's "tie me up! tie me down!". Ed Mell and Max Ernst are just two of the many artists inspired by the place - truly captivating and sacred to the American indigenous population. When you get there the strong red of the rocks almost abacinates your eyes. Iron permeates the soil and gives it a strong red hue...the heat then almost conjures up images of soil melting into a stream of hot red blood. The place is famous for it vortexes...if you want to know what one of those is then go to the link in the title of this blog.

I shall give you a report on how vortexes feel once I have been through one of those next weekend.

The middle of the trimester...

And my school days will soon be over. I FINALLY got myself on track and here I am writing another page for all of you. I know it's been forever and I am sure you all hate me for keeping you in the dark. Let's then get down to business and tell you what's going on:

1. Love life...errhh...

2. Job front ...mmmhm...

3. Social life .....uh??

ONLY KIDDING!!!

All is going well though it really feels sometime that the hardest road is the one with the greatest rewards. Well, for everyone apart for George W Bush apparently...he gets to pick the simple life or maybe it was bestowed upon him.

Anyway...why do I keep digressing? I do have a job and I do have a love life. I am already working part time and will be on full time from September. I am joining the school's consulting team working with a real firecracker - Prof Niblett! He's great! Yesterday we were giggling like kids when one of the Americans uttered the word KNICKERS not knowing what it meant...saying that he has a pair he uses to go golfing...Hilarious!

The love life...it's all good on that front too. I get to spend great weekends in the company of a great guy who seems to be just right for me. I will spend some more time to write about him over the next few weeks and give you more of the lowdown. I know that Abbi wants to know more so who am I to deny her the pleasure of making fun of me when she sees me next!

I have decided to run a marathon in November in San Antonio Texas - it's a rock and roll marathon with bands playing on stages along the way. Two of my friends might join me - Come along too, Simon??? You still owe me from the one in Winchester!
